Robert Dame's sense of design began developing at the age of ten when his mother gave him two books left by his grandfather. Published in England at the end of the 19th century, they were a treasure trove of European architecture and historical design. Fascinated, Robert spent hours trying to draw what he saw, mimicking the complexities of perspective and proportion.
A carpenter's job at a construction site when he was sixteen had a meaningful and lasting effect on him. He could not get the look and smell of the wood nor the beauty of the symmetry of the built forms out of his mind. Nearly thirty years after his first job, Robert and his seven member staff have a high-end niche. Relying on his early experience and his organic sense of how material fit together, Robert's trademark style is to open up his designs in a way that makes them airy and stunningly unique. His homes can be found throughout Houston, West University, River Oaks, Tanglewood and Memorial. Striving always to exceed a client's expectations, his passion for his work has only grown stronger.
Robert's firm has won countless awards, including Houston's top custom PRISM awards in 2003 and the 2004 National Star Award for best custom home design for homes costing over $1 million.
